How to Create Extra Space – De-clutter
People are always looking for extra space in their house and many complain about not having enough space. However, there is space right under your nose, you just don’t see it because you have it filled with clutter. Here are some good ways to get rid of your clutter and free up space to improve your home.
Charity Shops
Get rid of your clothes and other items that you may have lying around your house that you don’t wear or use and take them to a charity shop. Especially around Christmas time, charities are always looking for more to stuff to sell to raise money to help those in need so it is a win-win situation for everybody. The charity gets help and you get some space.
Organise
Don’t just throw things into a cupboard and forget about them until they fall on top of you when you open the door. Organise them properly. Take a day to organise your house. Simply take a room at a time, take everything out, sort what you need and don’t need. If you don’t need it, throw it out or donate it. If you do need it, place it into a pile to sort properly into a cupboard. You won’t believe how much more space is available to you when you have things neat and tidy.
Build some Storage
One great way to de-clutter is to build some storage yourself. Get out your power tools and your overalls and build some shelves, cupboards and drawers to keep your home neat and tidy.
Specific Areas
For the clutter you do have such as how to guides and other manuals, have a drawer assigned to put it all in and you will find yourself with more space elsewhere for other stuff that you need.
Use Extra Space
Use any extra space you have in your house. Under beds is a great place to find space that you could use to store any of your stuff. It is a good place to use because the stuff doesn’t get in the way of your everyday life and you forget it is there for the most part until you need something and it is easy to get to if you need to get something that you have put under there.
Suitcases
Suitcases are a great storage space. You have empty suitcases, and you have stuff that you need to put somewhere. Why not kill two birds with one stone and put your clutter in a suitcase, and then find a place for that instead of needing to find space for both things.
